# How do I change one date of a repeating event?
## Move one practice, or change every practice from here on.
A repeating event can be changed one date at a time, so a rained-out Tuesday does not force you to rebuild the season. When you edit a date in a repeating event, Football Play Card asks how far the change should reach.
### How do I change just one date?
1. Open **Schedule** and select the date you want to change.
2. Select **Edit**.
3. When **Edit recurring event** opens, choose **This occurrence only**.
4. Make your change and select **Save**.
Only that date changes. Every other date in the series stays as it was. Open the date from the Schedule, not from an email, because a link in an email opens the whole series and **Edit** then changes every date.
### How do I change this date and every one after it?
1. Open **Schedule** and select the date where the change starts.
2. Select **Edit**, then choose **This and the ones after it**.
3. Make your change and select **Save**.
Use this when practice moves to a new time for the rest of the season. Dates before the one you opened are left alone.
From that date on, the dates become a new series. Anything you changed on a single date from there on, including a canceled date, goes back to match the rest, and the new dates start their own event chat. Answers people gave for the whole series carry over, but answers given for one date do not.

### What can I change on a single date?
- On one date you can change the title, the notes, the date and time, the arrival time, the location, whether it is an all day event, and the details that belong to that event type, such as the opponent or whether you are home or away. The event type, how often it repeats, the time zone and who is invited belong to the whole series, so choose **The entire series** to change them.
### What happens if I move the whole series?
- Choose **The entire series** to move every date. The form opens on the first date of the series, and the change also applies to dates already played.
- When you move the series to a new time, a date you changed in other ways moves with it and keeps its change, such as a new title, notes or location, or being canceled. A date you gave its own time keeps that time. If you moved one practice to 4:30 PM and then move the series from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, that practice stays at 4:30 PM, so check it afterwards.
- If you change which days the series repeats on, or its time zone, changes to single dates can be lost. Check those dates on the schedule afterwards.
### Do my players get told about the change?
- Yes, when you want them to be. When you save a change your team can see, such as the time, location, title or notes, Football Play Card asks whether to tell the team.
