# How do I create an event?
## Add a practice, game, tournament or meeting and invite your team.
You create an event on the team schedule to put a practice, game, tournament or meeting in front of your team. Everyone you invite gets the event in the app and in their email.
### How do I create an event?
1. Select **Schedule** in the side menu.
2. Select **New event** (on a phone, the **+** button).
3. Choose the event type: **Practice**, **Game**, **Tournament** or **Meeting**.
4. Enter a title.
5. Set the **Start date** and **Start time**. For an all-day or multi-day event, tick **All day** at the top of the form instead, and set an **End date**.
6. Under **Duration**, set the **Hours** and **Minutes** it runs. Under **Arrival**, enter how many **Minutes** before the start you want your team there.
7. Under **Location**, choose a saved location or **Add new location**. You can also fill in **Location name**, and the **Time zone** if the event is not in your own.
8. Add notes if you want your team to read something before they get there.
9. Under **Invitees**, untick any group you do not want to invite: **Coaches**, **Players**, **Parents & Guardians** or **Family & Friends**. All four start ticked.
10. Select **Create**.
**Create** stays unavailable until the required fields are filled: the title, the start date, the opponent for a game and the bracket name for a tournament.
*A Tuesday practice at 5:30 PM, 1 hour 30 minutes long, with the team arriving 15 minutes early.*
### How do I set an arrival time?
Arrival is set in minutes before the start, so you can tell your team to be there before the whistle. Set the start time to when the event begins, then enter how many minutes early you want players on site. The event shows both, for example **5:30 PM** and **Arrival 5:15 PM**. Neither Duration nor Arrival appears for an all-day event.
### How do I tell my team something when I create an event?
When you select **Create**, Football Play Card asks **Tell the team?** The event is already on the schedule at that point. Your choice only decides whether the team is told.
- **Save and tell the team**, the default, emails everyone invited, posts the event to the **Team** channel and notifies their phones.
- **Save and tell the team with a message** does the same with your own words.
- **Save without telling the team** adds the event without telling anyone, and no invites go out.

### Frequently Asked Questions
### What do I fill in for a game?
A game asks for a few things a practice does not:
- **Game type.** Choose **Game** or **Scrimmage**.
- **Home, Away or TBD.** Pick TBD when the site is not settled yet, and change it when you know.
- **Opponent.** Required. Pick a saved opponent, choose **Add new opponent** to save one for next time, or choose **One-time opponent (free text)** and type the name.
- **Plays for this game.** Attach a folder so your players can look over that game's plays ahead of time.
- **Game rules and Scorekeeper(s).** Pick the rules your league plays by and who keeps score. On game day, open the event and select **Launch Scoreboard** to keep the score live.
### What do I fill in for a tournament?
- A **Bracket name**, which is required, and the **Organizer**. For a tournament over several days, tick **All day** and set an **End date**.
### What do I fill in for a meeting?
- A meeting lets you choose its audience, so a staff meeting does not land on every player's calendar. Choose **Coaches**, **Players**, **Followers** or **All**, which is the default. Your choice ticks the matching **Invitees** boxes, and you can still change them.
