An announcement is a message that cannot scroll away. Use it for the uniform change, the bus time, the rained-out practice. It pins above the conversation, it goes to your team's phones as a notification, and it tells you how many people have actually read it. An announcement does not have to be about an event. "Practice moved to field 2" is a perfectly good one on its own. ### How do I post an announcement? Only coaches can post an announcement. Players and parents post ordinary messages. 1. Open **Chat** and go to the **Team** channel, or **Coaches** for a staff-only announcement. 2. Type your message. 3. Select **Announce** under the message box. 4. An announcement shows a line like **Seen by 31 of 44**. The second number is everyone who can read that channel: your coaches, your players with accounts, and the followers you have let into the chat. Players without an account, Fans, and anyone you have removed from the team are not counted. On a Coaches channel announcement, only your staff are counted. You count in the second number but never the first, so an announcement everyone has read shows 43 of 44. Everyone on the team sees this line, not just coaches. ### How do I take an announcement down? 1. Select the three-dot menu on the announcement. 2. Select **Unpin**. Once **Announce** is on, an optional **Unpin automatically** field appears above the message box. Give it a date and time and the announcement takes itself down, which is worth doing for anything tied to a game or practice that will be over by then.   ### Frequently Asked Questions ### What happens when I post one? - It pins in a bar above the conversation reading, for example, **3 announcements** with the most recent one beside it, so it is the first thing anyone sees. - It stands out in the conversation itself, rather than looking like every other message. - It goes to your team's phones and tablets as a notification. - It starts counting how many people have read it. ### Do schedule changes announce themselves? - Yes, unless you choose not to. When you save a change to an event, Football Play Card asks **Tell the team?** **Save and tell the team**, the default, emails the team, posts the change to the **Team** channel as an announcement and notifies their phones. Choose **Save and tell the team with a message** to use your own words, or **Save without telling the team** to change it quietly.
