# How do I take a quiz for my child?
## Answer the quizzes your child's coach assigns, from the Quiz menu.
As a **Parent/Guardian**, you take the player quizzes your child's coach assigns when your child does not have their own Football Play Card account. That is every player on an Under 13 team. Sit down with your child, open the quiz, and enter their answers together. The quiz is there to help your child learn the plays.
### How do I take a quiz for my child?
1. Select **Quiz** in the side menu. The page is headed **Quizzes for** and your child's first name.
2. Find the quiz and select **Start Quiz**. Select **Review plays first** if you want to go over the plays before you start.
3. Answer each question and select **Next**.
4. Select **Submit quiz**, then **Submit**.
If you are also a coach, your side menu shows two **Quiz** items. The one for your child opens the page headed **Quizzes for** and your child's name.
A quiz can be submitted once. After that it moves to **Past Quizzes** with the score, and **Review answers** shows how it went.

### How do I switch between my children?
If you have more than one child on teams that use quizzes, their first names appear as buttons under the heading. Select a name to see that child's quizzes. With children on different teams, each name shows its team as well.

### Frequently Asked Questions
### How will I know there is a quiz to take?
- A banner at the top of the app reads, for example, **Coach has a quiz ready for Jake**, or **2 quizzes ready for Jake and Jason** when there is more than one, with **View Quiz** or **View Quizzes**.
- The **Quiz** item in your side menu shows how many are waiting.
- In the mobile app, you get a notification reading **New quiz for Jake** and the quiz name. Tapping it opens that child's quizzes. See "[How do I turn on push notifications on my phone?](https://knowledge.footballplaycard.com/how-do-i-turn-on-push-notifications?hsLang=en)"
### Can I stop partway through?
- Yes. Your answers save as you go. Close the app or the browser tab, and the quiz shows **Resume Quiz** when you come back. Going to another page inside Football Play Card is different: it asks **Leave Quiz?** and offers **Submit & Leave** or **Stay**. Choose **Stay** unless you are finished, because **Submit & Leave** scores every unanswered question as wrong.
### Does the coach know I took it?
- Yes. The coach's results show your child's score with a line reading **submitted by** and your name, followed by **(parent)**.
### Why can I not submit?
- A quiz closes at its due date. After that it shows **This quiz has closed. You can no longer submit.**
### Why do I not see Quiz in my menu?
- **Are you linked to your child as their Parent/Guardian?** Family & Friends and Fans cannot take quizzes for a player. Ask the coach to link you.
- **Does your child have their own account?** A player with their own account takes their own quizzes, so the parent does not.
- **Does the team's plan include quizzes?** Player quizzes come with your coach's State Champion plan or above. Your own plan does not matter.
