How do I Print Play Wristbands (Wrist Coach Inserts)?
Printing play diagrams to wristbands is easy on Football Play Card.
Play wristbands are also called wrist coaches, wristcoaches, or arm bands. The printed sheet that slides into each wristband window is called an insert. Football Play Card builds and prints those inserts for you from the Play Card Manager, so creating wrist coach inserts and printing play wristbands are the same workflow.
You can print up to 60 plays to a single wristband (20 per card across three windows) directly from the Play Card Manager.
To print play diagrams to wristbands:
-
Go to the Play Card Manager (home screen or select Plays from the navigation menu).
-
Select one or multiple plays within a folder.
-
You can use Select All Plays to select every play in a folder or script.
-
-
Select the Print button in the top right.
-
Choose Wristband as the print option.
-
Select how many plays you want to print per wristband or page.
-
Select Print to open the Print Preview window.
-
In your printer settings, choose Print or Save as PDF to download a digital copy.
Print Screen Settings to Review
Before printing, review the settings on the left side of the print screen:
-
Cards vs Callsheet: Select Cards when printing wristbands. Callsheets are used for full play sheets, not wristbands.
-
Plays per Card: Controls how many plays appear in each wristband window. Every Football Play Card wristband has three windows, so the total is three times the plays per card. Youth holds up to 6 plays per card (18 plays per wristband), Teen holds up to 12 per card (36 per wristband), and Adult holds up to 20 per card (60 per wristband).
-
Card Size: Select the card size that matches the wristband you are printing for. Football Play Card sells Youth, Teen, and Adult wristbands, and the app has a matching size option for each, so your play diagrams are laid out to the correct insert size. If you bought your wristbands somewhere else, choose Custom and enter the height and width of your insert window.
-
Additional Settings: Include the ability to customize or show/hide specific information on the wristband cards, such as the Font Size, Name format, and background colors.
The preview on the right updates in real time as you change settings.
You can also print text-only wristbands that show play names or numbers instead of play diagrams. In the Play Card Manager, open the folder with the plays you want and select them, choose Export, and pick the Excel export. In the exported file, delete any columns you do not need so that only the play names and numbers remain, then print that spreadsheet onto your wristband inserts.
