Why can't I accept my invite with a different email address?

An invite only works with the email address it was sent to.

A Football Play Card invite can be accepted only with the email address it was sent to. That goes for every invite: coaches, players, parents and other followers. It stops an invite link that gets forwarded from putting the wrong person on a team.

How do I accept my invite?

  1. Open the invite link from the email your coach sent.

  2. If you do not have an account yet, fill in the form and select Join Binder. The Email box is already filled in with the address the invite went to, and it cannot be changed. A player is asked for their birth month and year first. See "Why am I asked for my birth month and year?"

  3. If you already have an account with that address, you may already be on the team: if the email only asks you to sign in, sign in and open your team. Otherwise select Sign In, sign in, and select Join Team. A player who has not done so is asked for their birth month and year first.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

What if it says "This invite is for" a different address?

You are signed in to Football Play Card with a different account from the one the invite was sent to.

  • If the invited address already has an account, select Sign Out and Sign In and sign in with that address.

  • If the invited address has no account yet, select Sign Out, then open the invite link again to create the account.

What if it says the address "already has a Football Play Card account"?

  • You have used Football Play Card with that email address before. Select Sign In and sign in with it, then accept the invite. If you have forgotten the password, select Forgot your password? on the Login page. You can type your email address in the Username box.

Can I use a different email address?

  • Ask your coach to send the invite to the address you want to use. A new invite to the right address is the only way to change it.

What does "This invite is no longer valid" mean?

  • The link has already been used, your coach removed the invite, or it was sent more than 7 days ago. If you have already joined, sign in to open your team. If not, ask your coach to send it again.

What does "This invite has already been accepted" mean?

  • Somebody accepted this invite a moment ago, usually you on another device or in another tab. Sign in to open your team.
